About Me

Hello, my name is Sophia .I am an experienced teacher and I love my job as a teacher. I have been teaching English in a middle school in China for about 16 years.

I like languages and that’s why I am good at teaching .I have been an online Chinese Mandarin tutor since 2007.The students really enjoy having lessons with me. I focus on their needs and get each lesson well prepared . That’s why most of them can keep on learning with me for more than one year and take regular lessons.

My main teaching approach is to help the students use the language more . Practice makes perfect. I’ll help them develop the abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, especially the speaking skills.

As a language teacher, I also love studying languages. At the moment, I am a learner of Japanese and Spanish.

I hope I can help you learn Mandarin as well.

I'm relatively new to the world of Mandarin Chinese, but thanks to Sophia, I feel that I'm advancing rather quickly! Her method of teaching is absolutely amazing. I honestly look forward to going to each of her classes, and I feel absolutely terrible if I miss one. She plays the role of a teacher very well and always teaches what she intends to, but at the same time, I feel that she may be playing the role of a friend. It may be because of her kind, caring nature and her energetic confidence in both herself and in her students. I have had the pleasure of being one of Sophia's long distance students for over a year now. I can honestly say that she goes out of her way to make the lessons fun, interesting and highly enjoyable. She will answer any questions be it about the lesson or about her culture as well. I often find the time flies during our lessons as we talk about so many things! If you take up lessons with Sophia, I feel there is no other person better qualified to aid anyone in learning Mandarin.
