About Me

I’ve been in the education business for over 10 years now and enjoying every minute. The one area that continues to fascinate me is the integration of technology into traditional teaching. This platform allows me to teach classes while also learning from the other fantastic teachers. It was difficult for me to decide which courses to offer, but after some consideration, I was able to decide on a few that I hope will be popular. Another passion of mine is designing curriculum which I’ve attempted to bring my best work to Edufire. To better help students make a choice on my classes, I follow a set plan.

First of all, I do offer a free orientation before any of my courses begin. This will allow students to see exactly what material we will be covering in the class, see my teaching style and also ask questions. Making that jump to a paying class can be a difficult choice and I totally understand why so many students take advantage of the free classes, which is why I like to make it 100% clear why a student would pay for my course.

Secondly, I explain a fairly detailed syllabus that outlines what topics will be covered during each day of class. Preparing for courses is what truly makes them effective and I hate the thought of not being prepared. It is essential, of course, to be dynamic and change the class as it goes, but in order to be successful at this; it is best to know the material backwards and forwards. This is why with every class; the students will have a copy of the PPT, specific objectives to meet and often times other handouts. A combination of all of these, helps to ensure a high quality learning experience.

Finally, I believe in work, both by the student and the teacher, because without it, neither group will get stronger. My classes are not conversational English classes, instead they are courses with specific objectives and assessment procedures in place to honestly show the student whether or not they met the objectives. Since they deal with ‘real world’ subjects, integration of reality based role plays is an essential ingredient to each course.
