Hello and Welcome to eduFire.

My name is Ron Smith and I have been involved with eduFire first as a student and then as a tutor since May, 2009.

How I Discovered eduFire.

Although I didn’t find many classes in programming Microsoft Excel 2007 when I first signed up for eduFire, I did find a wonderful community dedicated to revolutionizing education in ways I have never experienced before.

Now please don’t get me wrong – I have been involved with online learning before. I have taken training courses through various websites that were great at offering pre-recorded learning sessions designed in a one size teaches all fashion. And I did learn some great things from these classes. But unforunately a problem always seemed to pop-up.

Questions! Have you ever tried to ask a tutor a question in a pre-recorded class? You can ask all you want, but getting an answer isn’t too easy.

Why I Love eduFire!

But eduFire is different! At eduFire the classes are presented live and the teachers are there to answer any questions youthe student may have. And there is no preset list of classes on eduFire! Students can request a tutor create classes that interest them, and if enough students start to show interest in these classes it seems like suddenly a class appears!

How Cool is That!

It seems that at eduFire everything is driven by the needs of the students! And that is what motivated me to join not only as a student, but eventually as a tutor as well!

Classes I Teach at eduFire!

Since joining eduFire as a Tutor I have made it my mission to discover ways to help me and my fellow tutors develop their marketing strategy for their online tutoring business. As someone who worked briefly in the television production industry as well as with promoting As-Seen-On-TV products at trade shows throughout the United States, I have a unique view of the marketing process that I called upon to develop my first marketing class.

The class was titled, Super-Charge Your Online Tutoring Income With Proven As Seen On TV Marketing Techniques. Through a strong marketing campaign and the wonderful support from several leaders in the eduFire community, I was blessed to have 87 students sign up for this class! Although there were some particularly nice reviews for this class, there were also several problems I had to struggle with while preparing and giving this class. This experience led me to develop my Five-Star Marketing Strategy For Tutors series. Although these classes are geared mainly towards tutors and students interested in learning how to supplement their income by sharing their passion for teaching with students all over the world, it can be beneficial to any one interested in learning about marketing their online services..
