Tutor
My name is Nicole Hunt; I graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a degree in Linguistics, French, and English. I have a strong command of French and English grammar and vocabulary. Also, I have done extensive sociolinguistic research comparing French and American cultures, and am able to explain nuanced differences between language use in France and the United States.
Originally I learned Parisian French, the standard dialect, while living in Paris on a student exchange. Having learned the language in the country, I speak the way French is actually spoken in daily life, which is not always the same as the phrasing taught in many text books.
Over the summers, I visit Paris to keep in touch with friends. Most of my French friends live in Paris. In general, I frequently contact them for up-to-date, accurate advice on how Standard French is spoken today, to continue to improve my personal knowledge of the language.
I love languages, learning, and helping others, so please contact me. =]

Throughout high school I held regular tutoring jobs for three families, focusing on general education. The family I worked most closely with had recently moved to the United States from Switzerland, so I am familiar with tutoring under the constraints of a language barrier.
I found it very easy to learn from Nicole. Her manner if very relaxed. She knows the formalities, but she also knows how French is used in the more common and less formal situations. I really appreciated her practical advice.
