Hi I’m August, a senior at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m 22 years old. Gaining and sharing knowledge of languages has long been one of my passions, and I hope I can learn from and help many people here. Some things I’m interested in are Indian classical music, Zen Buddhism, and literature. I particularly enjoy Latin American literature. Right now I’m working on learning Russian and Arabic and of course I always try to brush up my skills in every language I know.

Hola, me llamo August y estoy en el último semestre de mis estudios en la Universidad de Tejas en Austin. Adquirir y compartir el conocimiento de lenguas extranjeras ha sido una de mis pasiones por mucho tiempo, y espero poder ayudar y aprender de todos ustedes! Unas cosas que me interesan son la música clásica de la India, el budismo zen, y la literatura latinoamericana. Ahora intento aprender el ruso y el árabe y claro siempre trato de pulir mis habilidades en todos los idiomas que hablo.

Bonjour à tous! Je m’appelle August et je suis étudiant de l’Université de Texas à Austin. Ça fait un bon temps que les langues étrangères m’intéressent, et je veux toujours apprendre des nouvelles langues et partager mon savoir avec ceux qui veulent apprendre avec moi. Bon, quelques choses qui m’intéressent, à part des langues, sont la musique classique de l’Inde, le bouddhisme zen et la littérature latinoamericaine. En ce moment, j m’essaie à apprendre le russe et l’arabe, mais j’essaie toujours de renforcer mes habiletés dans toutes les langues que je sais.
I am a native speaker of English and I have been studying Spanish for 7 years. I read and write in both languages.
I’m graduating with a major in Spanish and a minor in French, with a 4.0 GPA. My focus in my major was literature, so I can help if you need to work on reading and writing (in English or Spanish). Of course if you’re looking to work on conversation skills I can definitely help with that.
I can also help with French, but I don’t know it as well as English and Spanish. Ironically, my tutoring experience has been in French, when last year one of my classmates asked me to tutor him so I agreed, and we continued to have tutoring sessions throughout the semester. So I can teach beginner to beginner-intermediate French.
I had alot of fun working with August. Pronunciation has always been difficult for me in French, but August takes you step by step in how you should make the sounds and form your mouth. He also pinpointed my other weak spots, and that's what we're working on now. I feel like I am going to have a well rounded education in French.
August is a great teacher! He was very prepared for the session and had given me great information to read before the lesson. I was impressed at how relaxed and natural he was and how he was able to help me think about the right answers easily. I would recommend him for all levels.
August is a really cool guy that can speak English, Spanish and French. If you need help with any of these languages I really recommend you contact him!
