I am a writer and publisher with two published novels and over 160 published short stories and articles in a variety of venues. In addition, I have edited six anthologies and am the chief editor of an online magazine. I also teach Creative Writing in face-to-face classes at the local Arts Center near where I live.
The video that is posted on my profile is a book teaser for my second novel, A WICKED GOOD PLAY.
A little history: I was in the U.S. Navy for over twelve years. During that time I was a Navy instructor for 42 months, teaching electronics and (oddly enough!) unarmed self-defense and baton techniques for shore patrol and Master-At-Arms.
While I was in the Navy I also taught as an adjunct professor of electronics at Florida Community College at Jacksonville.
After leaving the Navy, I worked in a variety of jobs, many of them involving training, writing or curriculum development. I was a public school teacher for five years in Florida and Georgia, for example, and I taught electronics at Florida Technical College.
I wrote training curricula for the State of Georgia, for CitiBank, for BusinessObjects Americas, for American Science and Engineering, and for Knightsbridge Consulting.
I also delivered training in computer software use and administration, electricity and electronics and the use of high-tech X-ray equipment to detect explosives and drugs.
While most of my classes have been face-to-face classroom or one-on-one sessions, I have also delivered online training via services such as WebEx to students across the U.S. and in other countries.
I truly enjoy teaching and presenting new information, especially with a group of engaged and participatory students!
My wife and I live on a few acres in a very rural area in NW Georgia, where we are in the process of trying to build a new house that will be very energy-efficient. (High R-factor, earth-bermed back wall, solar power and solar water heater, etc.) We share our home and land with one other resident: our dog, Buddy.

We just enjoyed a lovely lesson, a wonderful introduction to what edufire has to offer.
Tony, with manifest patience and good humour, explained clearly and succintly the subject matter.
I look forward with eagerness to future classes.
As an "in-person" creative writing student of Tony's I have found him to be very knowledgeable and supportive. I have taken several sessions of Tony's class at our local Arts Center and truly enjoyed them, as well as learning a lot. I don't want to sound like I am "tooting my own horn", but I have to say that my writing has really improved with Tony's guidance. His insights and experience have helped me a great deal, and I am beginning to see some progress in my writing career. I highly recommend Tony as a teacher!
I have had Tony as a writing instructor for one session, but I haven't been able to participate in any other classes; however, I do plan to enroll in future classes.
Tony is competent and interesting in his teaching methods. He is informative, thorough in the material discussed in the classes, and makes way for a lot of interaction. He uses constructive criticism and helpful hints to help his students become better writers.
I have enjoyed his classes and look forward to being a part of his future classes.
