I’m a native Japanese speaker living in Tokyo.
I have taught Beginner and Intermediate Japanese at a language institute, and also taught business Japanese to corporate clients. Apart from teaching, I love to travel and am always planning my next trip..!
Anyone interested in learning Japanese or learning about Japan is welcome! We’ll be doing a lot of TALKING :)
To New Students
Before setting up a lesson, please let me know your level of Japanese (material you are using, or you can send me few sentences in Japanese). Also, I want to know whether you are interested in daily conversation, grammar, pronunciation, business etiquette, or all of the above :)

Nao sensei always seems to prepare the most perfect lessons for my level. When I think of her lessons I think of "Goldilocks and the 3 bears", never too easy or too hard but just right!
Nao is such a amazing tutor. She is very friendly and amazing when she teaches.

She is such a great turor hahaha she can even teach a airhead like me. She teaches japanese in such a wonderful way that you absorb the material and have fun.
Nao-san is a wonderful tutor! She's very patient and answered all my questions. I enjoyed her very much. Her explanations were easy to understand. Despite the technical troubles, she continued to tutor me and I appreciate that very much. I definitely recommend Noa-san! She's awesome!

Nao is such a patient and relaxed teacher. She makes it easy to speak Japanese without being nervous! She prepared an excellent lesson for me with exactly what I wanted to learn. She prepared it in a beautiful PowerPoint presentation (especially 猫ちゃん）。 It was the perfect combination of conversation and lesson, and I hope she accepts me as a regular student. なお先生ありがとうございました！
Nao is a great tutor and helps you to absorb the material better then any way I imagined. She teaches at your pace and is willing to explain things in detail to help you. I do highly recommand her and say that you are missing out on a great teacher if not teached by her.
Another great teaching from Nao Sensei! As usual, she had everything lined up, from the presentation, to the verbal examples, to the verb conjugation tables! Apart of learning Japanese, I'm also learning Organizational Skills! I thank my lucky stars for having such a pro-active teacher! Will continue my private studies with Nao! If you want to learn at your own pace, she's the teacher for you!!!!!!!! ありがとうございます！
Why? Nao is a great conversationalist, it felt like I had made a new friend. 10/10 "People will love her" - said the daily newspapers "SENSATIONAL" - said walkers (btw nao, walkers were the company who made thos potato chips)
Nao was really easy to work with and I learned alot from only one session! I'll be speaking Japanese in no time!
Another great class! Nao was very well prepared as usual and provided me with a lesson that was challenging but still on my level. She is a very great asset to my journey of learning Japanese.
Nao is a terrific sensei! She is very patient, lets me try phrases as many times as I need to get it right. She speaks excellent English, and is a lot of fun to talk to. She also made a very nice presentation for our session. She asked me what I wanted to learn about after I signed up for a session, and went above and beyond to go over everything I asked about. I would recommended Nao for anyone who wants to learn Japanese.
I highly recommend Nao as a tutor. She was able to assess my level through e-mail and created a great powerpoint based personalized lesson that suited me level perfectly. She also provided me with assignments outside of the classroom to help further my studies. Nao is patient and gave me honest and helpful feedback throughout the class. I give her a 10 out of 10!

I was really impressed with Nao-sensei when I attended a trial group lesson she ran. She seems especially good at listening to each student's speech, understanding that student's strengths and weaknesses, and using that to help everybody learn at the same time. She also was very thoughtful in preparing written material for the class and led us through some topics that were really fun to discuss. The notes she typed up during the class also seemed really helpful. I'd definitely consider studying with her again!
She is very good at teaching and understanding. My rating for her is 10/10 very excellent tutor and to be honest if you are not asking to be tutored by her then your doing something wrong. She helps you to understand the material at your own pace. I enjoyed every minute.
After having a session with Nao, this testimonial pretty much writes itself. All I can possibly say is, not only will you have fun in having an awesome conversation with Nao, but you will leave a session feeling like you've learned soo much. I'd definitely recommend Nao. Really, this testimonial itself is an understatement to how good Nao really is, in fact, stop reading and book a session....nao(now LOL).
Nao Sensei is an incredible teacher! Very patient during classes! Is always prepared with extra material and gives you homework! Yes, that's right, homework! She also provides cultural topics as examples during the class, so you'll really feel like your learning because your associating your language knowledge with your cultural knowledge as well! I feel really happy by having Nao as my teacher and highly recommend her if you really want to learn Japanese! Also a plus is that you can listen to the real pronunciation of the Japanese words! Another plus is that she speaks perfect English because she use to live in the U.S.! Arigato Nao Sensei!
Nao-sensei is totally awesome! She's down-to-earth and a really lovely person to talk to (: She's a really fun teacher and you will never get bored of lessons! Nao-sensei is an experienced person who definitely knows her stuff!
She has a unique way of teaching, unlike the traditional way of teaching. She engages her students in interesting conversations and if there are doubts that need to be clarified, she would definitely try her utmost best to help you understand (: (Different students vary though.)
Most importantly, she's a very genuine person who's willing to go the extra mile to help you understand. In short, she's fabulous!
