Hi! I’m a language teacher based in Italy and I’ve been showing interest in languages and phonetics since my childhood as I come from a multiethnic family of linguists and translators. I’ve been working as a freelance language tutor for more than ten years. Moreover, I’m an eager language learner as well and I always enjoy practicing the languages I speak. I’m presently learning how to read and write Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali and new alphabets are my passion together with phonetics and music! I’ve been learning North Indian classical music for many years and wrote my degree thesis on the subject.
I’m very fond of Indian traditional henna body art, I researched a lot on it and worked as a henna artist in many occasions.

Being an internet enthusiast and having a long teaching eperience, I started teaching online and found it a great way to spread my passion and knowledge about languages. I am a professional yet friendly teacher and I like focusing both on conversation and grammar without making the lessons boring. Being unsatisfied with the teaching method of most material avaliable I developed my own method and I tailor it on each student’s needs and personality. I stress the importance of correct pronunciation, grammar made easy with clear and simple rules and up to date interesting material.
As a language student and teacher I believe that the knowledge of grammar is important in order to speak a language fluently and correctly, but in my approach you will learn how to apply the grammar and not long, useless, boring rules and lists.

The focus will be on:

PRONUNCIATION Being a phonetics enthusiast I teach how to pronunce single sounds and words not only by hearing and repeating, but with a clear explaination of the speaking process. I will also help you focus more on listening comprehension through exercises I specifically make for my students which are based on my knowledge of phonetics, language education and the languages I teach. Even if you are not a beginner this will help you conceive the language in a new way
READING AND WRITING this will be especially stressed in Hindi since the script is very useful in order to pronounce words correctly. I believe reading and listening comprehension must be practiced separately and equally, depending on the student’s needs. My conversational course is not based on reading, but on speaking, anyway the script will always be kept as a side reference for a correct pronunciation.
GRAMMAR it is vital to know the correct grammar of a language in order to use it properly, anyway I don’t believe in boring long explainations you will forget and hate, I’ll make it easy and give you hints to remember the rules!
CONVERSATION It is important to be able to use a language, thus I will give you the basics to know how the language works in its cultural context with up to date and interesting material.

If you need a course focused mainly on spoken conversational language, I can offer this option as well, we will use clear transcription and put stress on the listening/speaking process, anyway this will be only offered for individual sessions or for groups on request.

BOOKING A LESSON Check my schedule to see when I’m available for classes, I’m generally very flexible, anyway because of time differences I advise to book sessions in advance (at least 12 hours before). It’s also important that you have a headset ready for the class, since without that we may have some audio problems, You can ask for an informal chat meeting in order to discuss details before the actual lesson.
