Tutor
CURRENTLY NOT OFFERING CLASSES ON EDUFIRE… SORRY…
I graduated from my hometown university in Italy in Modern Languages (English, French and Russian), then I took a Master’s degree in Bilingual Translation at the University of Westminster in London, where I also started studying Spanish.
After marrying my Colombian husband (yes, I did learn Spanish pretty well and took both DELE intermedio and superior thanks to him!) I moved to Houston, where I am living now.
I have been working as an interpreter in Court and I have also worked as a freelance translator, but I am mainly a teacher! I have been teaching at all levels, from primary to middle to high school, and also to adults from different backgrounds.I have a collection of international language certificates, from DELF and DALF for French, to DELE form Spanish and CPE for English, and I would be more than happy to help you prepare for those tests.I can teach Italian (my mother tongue), French (it is the language I have been teaching since 1998), Spanish (the language I speak at home), and English (ESL).
Great session as always. We are now working on a difficult area for me and she is very helpful on how to get through it...practice, practice, practice. So I'm going to practice as much as possible. Maria makes you want to push forward in your Spanish studies. I love that about her. I can't wait until our next session.
Maria is a good teacher and is helping me get a good understanding of the grammar in Italian. I enjoy working with her.
Even though Maria was sick she still gave a great tutoring session. I wasn't prepared with my homework but we did it together and now I have extra homework for our next session. I don't mind I just got too into the link she sent me of the University of Texas Spanish site. I spent too much time there and didn't have a chance to do my homework. I hope that doesn't happen again. I really enjoy my sessions with Maria and love the exercises we do. Keep up the good work.
Maria makes our sessions very fun. It's like playing with the language and while you are doing the activities you are learning. I'm amazed at how much I've recalled with our sessions. I'm always disappointed when our session is over. She makes studying the language such fun. I really enjoy our sessions and can't wait for the next session.
Maria is a great DELE tutor. I can't explain it but she made me feel very comfortable and I was able to speak with her with ease. It didn't seem as if I was trying as hard as I usually do with others when I speak it. I was able to relax with her and I actually understood our session without trying to translate what she said. I understood her. I was surprised at how fast the time flew. I really learned a lot in one session. I think I will do great on the DELE with Maria's help.
Maria is a wonderful tutor. Her lessons are very fun. She works with you to help you improve your language skills. I'm taking DELE Intermedio with her and I feel confident that I will not have a problem passing it with her help. Once I've conquer Spanish, I plan on working on French and Italian with her. I beleive she can help me with those languages as well. If you are looking for a tutor who does great lesson plans, Maria is the one to work with. Keep up the great work!
If you want help with the DELE, I strongly reccommend Maria. She is a great tutor and makes it seem so easy. She puts you at ease quickly and is very helpful. She concentrates on what you need the most help with and goes on to the other areas from there once you are more comfortable. She explains things when you don't understand and only moves on once you are on track. Once I'm done with my DELE exams, I will definitely take French and Italian with her as well.
