Hello,
You may call me Caro. I am a 22 year old deaf girl living in Florida, currently studying at university for a B.A. degree.
I am here so I can be your guinea pig and help you to practice your communication and interaction skills with an actual deaf person. I know many of you don’t have actual deaf people you can interact with… that’s why I’m here.
Since I am not a trained teacher, I am not going to set up a strict program to teach you ASL, require homework nor even set up a constant schedule with you. I need to keep my hours flexible and I do not want to guide you through a poorly organized curriculum.
Students of ASL courses can come to me when they need help with some presentation practice or some exercises…. Or a self-learning student who wants to find someone to practice with or to make sure of something, even if it’s just fingerspelling…. I’m pretty flexible :)
Doesn’t matter if one doesn’t know sign language at all, come to me and shoot questions and I’ll start them on the path with fingerspelling and some basic signs.
Because of the reasons above, the methods I will tutor will be on case by case basis. How I tutor will depend on the student’s needs.

Lifelong experience in teaching basic and conversational sign language to interested people how to sign.
Assisted teachers in college classes.
Held free casual tutoring classes with people by word of mouth (never official nor advertised myself, was through known people who wanted my help)
There is not a better way to learn a language then from immersing yourself in that language and it's culture. She epitomizes that. She is great for beginners as well, me being one of them. Because she focuses on what you need to know to get by.
