I’m currently an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School, where I teach finance. I’m also the founder of a consulting company established in the belief that enlightened decisions – those made with better knowledge of facts and consequences – result in lower personal and corporate risk. This theme connects all my academic and professional activities.
Over the years I’ve lectured worldwide, in academic and practitioner settings, on the subjects of decision making, risk management, and financial literacy. I’m a fairly active blogger and the author of several books. Recently, I’ve been attempting to fight off the effects of middle age by pursuing a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Prior to launching The Light Brigade, held senior strategy and operations roles with some of the world’s leading risk management firms. Roles included managerial responsibilities in New York, Toronto, London, Singapore, and Australia.

Author of “Leveraging People for a Corporate Turnaround: Leadership and Management Guidance for Organizational Change.” The book touches on the importance of good decision-making skills for corporate (and other) leaders (2009).
