About Me

Announcement: I will not be teaching online from Sep 20, 2010 to Nov 20, 2010 due to other events and schedule.
I have a Master’s in Chinese Language Education. I am very familiar with teaching methodology related to the teaching and learning of the Chinese Language and have more than 5 years of experience in classroom teaching and lecturing. If you are interested in learning conversational mandarin or Chinese Language as a Second Language, please drop me a mail. Thanks and have a nice day.

I am available from 9am to 6pm (PST) on weekdays (Mon to Fri). Drop me a message if you have other preferred timing. Please let me know your area of interest in the language so that I can plan the lesson according to your needs.

Our six year old son has completed seventeen 40 minute Mandarin tutoring sessions with Claire. Claire has done an excellent job with him. At lesson time, she is on-time and ready to go. Most importantly, when our son is having an off night (tired, distracted, etc. - he's six!), she adapts. You can't ask for more than this. We have already recommended Claire to several friends with young children learning Mandarin. Online language tutoring is still a bit of an experiment with such a young child, but we're very happy with our son's progress. - Brendan and Kathy

Lao shi hen hao!!! That means very good teacher, and I only had one lesson!!! Claire is very clear and her presentation makes things easy to follow. This lesson was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. She is a wonderful teacher!!!

I have been taking Mandarin Module and Chinese Phonetics with Claire, and even though it's only been a month, I already feel like I am starting to be able to communicate in Mandarin. Her style is amazing: prepared, structured, fun and enjoyable. She clearly has experience teaching, and the lessons are both entertaining and informative. Every lesson is pleasant, and I leave having learned important new things. I highly recommend her lessons if you want to learn or improve your Mandarin.

My first class with Claire went smooth and easy, I really enjoyed it. she is paitent and well prepared for the class.......I didn't believe that the class was finished so easily. If you are looking for an excellent instructor in Mandarian Chinese I would definetly recommend her. Can't wait for my next class XD

My first Chinese Character Writing class with her is beyond my expectation. She's well-prepared and empathy. She pronounced the words several times which is great for me, because I'm quite confused with the tones of Mandarin chinese since I've learned. And she teaches not very fast which help me take time to remember all words. She's great!
