I’ve just begun my MA in General Linguistics, and I’ve been studying French on and off since 1997. I’m interested in Icelandic studies, Scots Gaelic, Semantics & Pragmatics, Phonology, and especially Language Acquisition. I’m a good student with good grades, but I struggle most with Syntax and Morphology (which I’m tackling this term) and am looking for occasional assistance with that as well.
I’m from the Puget Sound originally, but I currently live in southern California, so once I’ve got some of the higher-priority subjects underway, I’d like to consider adding in some conversational Spanish instruction.
I’m also beginning to decide what I’ll do after I graduate with my MA. Since I’ve decided on my focus being in Language Acquisition, I have two choices in the immediate future—I can move on to PhD studies (which will require me to take the GRE), or I can move on to a teaching credential (which require the CBEST and/or CSET). Either way, I’ve got standardized testing in my future, and will be looking for assistance with that down the line.
